FOUNDER, MD

Ayanda Mzondeki

After 8 years in the human resources industry, Ayanda and her late business partner, founded Liyema Consulting with a mission to provide solutions that are people centered and impactful.

Ayanda Mzondeki: LiyemaHR MD

Having enrolled at the University of the Witwatersrand in 2000 to study towards a Bachelor of Commerce degree, Ayanda eventually joined the industry in 2004 as a recruiter.

She soon realised that this was her passion and over the years that followed; she grew her knowledge, experience and drive to create a business that would cater to what she believed was missing and could be improved upon.

Having unfortunately lost her business partner in its infancy, Ayanda has led her team in growing Liyema into a company that implements innovative solutions that advantage people while embracing new technologies and systems.

A mother of two, Ayanda believes in lifelong learning, mentorships- seeking and providing support to other women in business.

She graduated from the Goldman Sachs-GIBS 10 000 Women Certification Programme in 2014, and is an alumni of the EY Winning Women 2016. She is a member of BWASA (Business Women’s Association of South Africa) and WPO (Women Presidents Organisation).

Recruitment life cycle

Our full suite of demand management (Recruitment life cycle) options give our clients the choice of outsourcing all or parts of their hiring process. We work closely with clients to understand more than just their current talent needs.

We provide hiring support for our clients’ specialised projects through our fast turnaround on contingent talent pipelining. We offer both long and short-term contracts depending on our clients’ needs and the specific project resourcing requirements. We manage this whole process to alleviate the administrative burden.

Another initiative that Liyema is passionate about is Alexander Gunners Development. This NPO focuses on Soccer Development in the townships but their management quickly realised that not everyone that plays soccer will become a professional soccer player. The NPO then made a decision to provide the young boys and girls in their soccer teams and the surrounding community with the necessary life skills which will enable them to reach greater heights outside of the sports fields.  

The Skills Development Programmes that are outside of the soccer field include Maths, Science, Accounting and Computer training. They also include supplying – school uniform, mentorship and school sponsorship.
